About Me

Hi, I’m Ben!

I’m a graduate student at Columbia University studying transient high-energy astrophysical phenomena.

Originally from Israel (though having also grown-up in California’s Bay Area), I received my bachelors and masters degrees from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, working on neutron-star mergers under the supervision of Tsvi Piran. At Columbia, I am working with my advisor, Brian Metzger, on understanding white-dwarf – neutron-star mergers, superluminous supernovae, fast radio bursts, and peculiar transient events in general.
